We’re just back from 2 nights in Padstow. We couldn’t have been luckier with the weather; our decision to spend 2 nights in Cornwall, over 3 nights in Rome certainly paid off!
We started off proceedings with a 6 course taster menu at No.6 in Padstow. Unfortunately Paul Ainsworth (Great British Menu) wasn’t cooking on the night but this didn’t matter as Head Chef John Walton delivered 6 superb courses. Needless to say the food was absolutely fantastic and the service the best we’ve ever had. We were looked after by Michael, who was the right side of attentive all evening and his ethusiasm and passion for food was clearly evident. He selected the most unusual and interesting wines which matched each dish perfectly.As the evening came to a close he threw in a couple of extras, one of which was the most amazing champagne I have ever tasted. I’ve listed each of the courses below that we were lucky enough to try. We finished off the evening with Paul’s signature dish from Great British Menu and a trip to the kitchen!
