A Sunday stroll

I nipped out this afternoon with Mum for a gentle stroll around the village. It was lovely to get out and spot the first signs of autumn making their mark on the countryside. 30 minutes later, the wellies were off and we settled down on the sofa with a cup of tea and slice of homemade banana cake.

Society Cafe

Friday September 21st was the end of a working week which felt like the first week of autumn. With the afternoon off I was treated to a visit by Mum and we were treated to a memorable first visit to Society Cafe. In bustling Kingsmead Square we pulled up a chair outside – for what will surely be one of the last times this year – and chatted over two flat whites and a gorgeous slice of carrot cake.

2 days in Oxford

Feast your eyes on these happy snaps which were taken during my stay in Oxford at the end of last week. My sis and I made the most of the final few days of summer sunshine with 3 trips to the Botanic Gardens, 2 Pret picnics, lots of Ivy giggles and 1 sizzling BBQ courtesy of Mr Smith!

Dough

Not one to shy away from a culinary challenge J.A finally turned his hand to breadmaking on Sunday. With a little help from Richard Bertinet’s book ‘Dough’, he effortlessly conjured up 6 perfectly crafted Fougasse (apart from the one I shaped!). It was simply the most delicious homemade bread I have ever tasted and a very welcome addition to an autumnal feeling Sunday. Thank you.
